If you can't teach your dog or cat to open a can of pet food and close the lid on their food bowl, then the Smart Feeder might just provide the perfect solution, or half the solution anyway, as it can't open the can, but will close the lid and stop the smell and keep the food fresh.

To prolong the life of your pet food the Smart Feeder has a sensor on the front so it will open when your pet comes within 30 cms of it and stay open until your pet has finished feeding and will then sense the pet has walked away and close. This might seem a bit bizarre however it will stop the food drying out and the slightly less than nice smell of the pet food tainting the atmosphere.

All in all this should save you money on your pet food bill and your pet should like you a bit more when it's not forced to eat the dried up food left from the day before.
